Understanding The Problem
Products currently available in the market lack sufficient information and resources that are specifically designed for parents with young children aged 1 to 4 years old.
1. Many users found the content/ information was too broad covering too many different needs and aged group.
2. Many users found the navigation, filters, and information sorting not intuitive, which made it hard for them to find informations.
3. A few users found the information to be overly lengthy and felt that it could only be accessed through reading.
Product Mission
The app will offer users content/ information in various formats, including text and audio experiences. It will curate valuable resources tailored to meet the needs of parents with children aged 1 to 4 years. Users will have the option to bookmark resources they find helpful.
Starting The Design
Usability Study: Findings
This study aims to understand the user journey for navigating informations and resources. It will help me to develop a deeper understanding about how users are currently using the product, and identify any potential pain points they may experience as they interact with the product.
1. Users prefer to be able to access home page anytime.
2. Users prefer podcasts to have short description.
3. Users prefers to add signed up activity to their phone calendar.
Final Prototype
Possible Next Steps
I have learned that always remember the core value when designing an app, users should be the center of all design thinkings. Peer feedback is very important to improve user flow and eventually bring success to a product.
1. Conduct more usability studies to identify more pain points from different users.
2. Improve the product to be fully accessible for users with special needs.
3. Develop brand identity for the app to stand out from the current existing competitors.
